The Internet is a fascinating world on its own. Far back as 2018, there was this beautiful website I built for a client.
– Fast
– Sleek
– Beautiful
– Easy to manage
Àfter 2 years the website got expired. He said he didn’t need the website anymore.
Interesting thing is I also loved the template so much. I often used it for urgent jobs as at that time. I can host a website within 2hrs with ìt even with poor network.
Fast forward to 2023.
Last week Monday, the same client called me and wanted his website renewed.
I laughed 😅 your website has long expired, I told him. He insisted he wanted the same domain name and same sleek design.
I searched for that same name and guess what? It is still available 😂 Domain Arbitrage guys are probably tired of hoarding it.
The sad news is, I no longer use that template because it is deprecated. As for the design, I can’t even remember the basic settings anymore.
So I went to Google and asked for the old snapshot of that website.
Luckily enough I still remembered the domain ñame. Google didn’t give me any useful result 😕 .
I knew I was searching the wrong way. I then remembered a tool called WAY BACK MACHINE.
I know it is used to recover old copies of web pages but I have never used it. I do not even know the exact extension. Is it .com, .co or .org?
GOOGLE IS YOUR FRIEND!
This popular saying never gets old. I did my little research. Got the exact url https:// archive. org/web/ (I intentionally broke the link), searched for my old website and BOOM!
IT APPEARED LIKE JACK SPARROW❗❗❗
I looked at the layout, copied some useful text and built another stunning website that is turning on e own 😅😂😃.
